President's Report:

Welcome to the Triangle Chapter of NACE

We have an exciting year unfolding for our members.  Several new events are on our calendar and our programs committee along with our community service chair are working out all of the elements to showcase yet another amazing year.

Please remember to check our website frequently for updates on our chapter, job openings and member news.  We are working on changing the format of our site to include a new photo gallery of chapter events as well as keep everyone informed of upcoming chapter meetings.    The website is also a useful tool for member contact information.  Now with over 140 members we are sure that when  you need  to make a recommendation you will have no problem referring from our NACE list.

The National Website also has a new look.  If you have not yet spent time reviewing our National Site, please take a moment to do so at this time.   nace.net      The face of NACE is changing and as we celebrate our 50th year  this site is just one of the first steps to showcasing our organization.

Wising you all a safe and successful March

Wedding Trends:

It Takes a Village ~

Weddings continue to be events of such exaggerated proportions, it gives one pause ~ For example, there is the idea in play that if you have already picked your wedding party you can ask a friend to be a “second-tier” attendant or “Very Important Extra”.  In other words, you are not special enough to be in the wedding party but are a little lower on the food chain.  The duties of this position include everything from holding the chuppah to sweeping up rose petals at the end of the reception.

I, personally, would be so uncomfortable asking any friend of mine to do custodial work for me because I am the bride (translated “Wedding Diva”).  Where will it end?

Graciousness never goes out of style.  Brides need to be reminded to keep things in perspective.
