November 2007 2nd Edition - Issue: #28
President's Report:

Hello NACE Members,

It is hard to imagine we are already in November.   This year has just rolled along so quickly and now as we are preparing for our November 13th awards ceremony I have realized that we are coming to the end of what I believe is one of  the Triangles best year in NACE. On the 13th we will be celebrating 23 separate award winners.  The chapter had over 64 entries this year setting an all time Triangle NACE record.

Along with our awards presented we also will be announcing our Fundraiser donation to the Interfaith Food Shuttle and will be presenting them with a check.  " Of course we will reveal this amount at the gala.

Other NACE highlights this year that should be mentioned.

We will be donation the highest amount to our fundraiser in Triangle NACE History.

We have had an attendance at every NACE meeting that has been no less than 70 and at our highest attendance 200.   Both records for the Triangle NACE.

We have hit a record as far as our NACE memberships.  We currently our at 125 members.

We have maintained a full slate of  14 board members for 2 years running and entering a full slate of 2008.

We have been feature in the Cary Magazine with our Top of the Table event.

We will celebrate with ISES and the TBA as we close our our year on Dec, 4th.  Look for more information to come.

Best regards,

Diane Tighe, Triangle NACE Chapter President

Wedding Trends:

Want a destination wedding and have all the people you love see it??  Brides no longer have to physically bring all their guests to Belize, Hawaii or other exotic location.  A new trend for the brides and grooms who have grown up with the Internet, is the webcast or as they are called in the wedding business, “wedcasts”.

The couple’s friends can see the wedding in “real time”.  Enjoying every emotion and beautiful moment of the ceremony as it unfolds.

One such company is called LiveInternetWeddings.com.  This is how is works. The couple sends Evites to friends and family.  The invitation includes directions for calling up their ceremony and an RSVP is requested so they know who will be watching.

Who says you can’t have it both ways?
