About Our Speaker
Whitney Wilkerson is the Founder of NEXT for Women, an educational media company providing resources to help young women succeed in the workforce. In her role, Whitney sets the strategy and vision for the company’s live events and interactive web based tools.
Prior to founding Next for Women Whitney founded Stop Studios, an award-winning design firm focused on print design, corporate branding, and e-learning. Wilkerson began her career working with Condé Nast Publications, a New York based magazine publishing company, as well as the Italian fashion house, Giorgio Armani, focusing on marketing initiatives in the US and South America.
In the community, Wilkerson serves on the board of the Contemporary Art Foundation, as well as the board for ACTUS, a charitable foundation supporting educational initiatives. Because of her active role in the Triangle, Wilkerson received the Triangle Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Leadership Award, which honors up-and-coming leaders under the age of 40 who are making a difference in the community.
Wilkerson received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Hampshire College in Amherst, Mass. A native of Morristown, N.J., Wilkerson resides in Durham, N.C.
